Levenger is a well-known American manufacturer and retailer of high-quality writing instruments, stationery, leather goods, and office accessories. It was founded in 1987 by Steve and Lori Leveen, with the aim of creating products that enhance the reading and writing experience. It started as a small catalog business and eventually expanded to include retail stores and an online presence.
Levenger is particularly known for its collection of fountain pens. They offer a variety of pens designed with different materials, nib options, and writing experiences. Levenger pens are often characterised by their quality construction, attention to detail, and ergonomic designs.
In 2008 Levenger made a pen to commemorate Sir Isaac Newton, the so-called founder of physics as a science. The pen was made in Germany. The barrel is a black lacquer over brass with silver coloured ridges that are probably lacquer. It has a clear lacquer coating in the ridges. The trim is chrome plated.
The pen was modelled after the walking stick gifted to Sir Isaac Newton by the Duke of Marlborough and has the cane ornamentation on the cap. Pens’ length is 5½ inches. Nib is made of steel, very smooth, and doesn’t have a breather hole.
